SEASON ONE | CASHMERE

Cashmere is a podcast based on Lynne’s second book ‘Cashmere a guide to Scottish luxury’.

Life-long friends and former colleagues Gill Brown and Lynne Coleman share stories from almost two decades of friendship that began in the sound proof studios of a now defunct radio station.

While Gill went off to produce awesome award-winning network tv for the BBC, channel 4 and more, Lynne wrote books ending up a textiles expert with the largest personal archive of tartan on the planet working with brands such as Burberry, Chanel & Céline.

They discuss the components of what makes Scottish textiles so special, why it’s loved by people all around the globe, and why every design house has a Scottish mill in their little black book.

But ultimately the ladies broaden out the word luxury, what it means, and expand that into time. The time it takes to become an artisan. Heritage. Saving to buy something you’ll keep forever. Sustainability. Memories attached to clothing you have loved and lived in. Interiors. And the longevity of friendship. To them, the true definition of luxury.

SEASON TWO | VINTAGE

Vintage sees the girls revisiting Lynne’s first book ‘A Girl’s Guide to Vintage’. They shop 15 cities around the U.K, look at social media’s impact on the community and talk to guests who have a love for clothing with some history.

The format follows the same formula as season one, so you can expect to hear more warm chats with friends who have been in each others lives for decades.

Gill is currently a producer for The Big Questions for the BBC. Lynne is a columnist for Town&Country and Flock Magazine.

“When you invest in something it means you are committed to it.

The items we choose to cover our bodies with are so much more than fleeting fashion. They hold memories and have emotional weight. They have been saved up for and savoured. Spilled upon and sweated in. Our time, be it emotional or financial, means something. That isn’t disposable.”
