SEASON TWO | Episode 1: a guide to luxury VINTAGE

It’s the season opener for a guide to luxury | VINTAGE. This series follows the pages of Lynne’s first book ‘A Girl’s Guide to Vintage’.

The ladies are setting the scene for what’s to come and telling the story of what happened behind the scenes in the run up to Lynne writing her first book.

THE INTRO

It was the night before Christmas Eve and I found myself unexpectedly saying goodbye to the people I had spent every day with for the past three years. Reeling from being made redundant not once but twice in nine short months by the same employer was deliriously debilitating.

I was seven days shy of my 25th birthday and convinced this job defined my very existence. Who would I be if I wasn’t broadcasting? What would I do? This wasn’t the year of Corona but the financial crash of 2008. And little did I know, this door closing would allow the next to flood open, giving me my actual defining moment.

As the weeks merged into one another I found solace in second-hand shopping. Browsing while broke had always been a favourite pastime of mine. For as far back as my memory allows, I have been fascinated by all things old. My grandfather, historic buildings, classic movies and timeless music, but clothes – their texture, smell and stories knock all of that into a cocked hat.
